Kateslem After School Program operates out of
Banting & Como Lake Middle Schools, in
Coquitlam, BC.
The program starts the first day of School in September,
and runs through the last day of School in June.
Kateslem operates Monday to Friday, from 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm
during the school terms, with snacks provided each day.
The Kateslem room is set up in a club like manner, with couches and
tables for homework use.
Youth also access the gym, classrooms, home economics room,
art room and/or outdoor facilities to accommodate planned activities
throughout the year.
A broad range of activities are offered, including:
- Homework assistance
- Literacy skills
- Life skills
- Health, nutrition and hygiene skills
- Community service and leadership
- Awareness and prevention education
- Recreational activities
- Creative activities
- Friendship and conflict resolution
